Translators Needed

We at Green Teacher are asked often if we have French or Spanish editions. Unfortunately, there are no magazines similar to Green Teacher that are published in French or Spanish, nor are we in a position to publish ones of our own. With thousands of French-language schools in Canada and a burgeoning Hispanic school population in the United States, there is a real need for more educational materials for North America's other two languages.

With the assistance of our multilingual readership and many volunteers from around the world, we're hoping to make a small dent in this language barrier. At the beginning of 2006, we added two new sections to our website - Green Teacher en español and - Green Teacher en français where visitors can freely download a selection of Green Teacher articles and learning activities that have been translated into Spanish and French.The service is free. We hope that over time our collection will grow to become a well-used and useful resource, not only for North American educators, but also for educators in Spanish and French-speaking countries around the world.
We continue to seek the assistance of volunteer translators who can write fluently in French or Spanish, and who would like to translate a favourite article, or an article on a favourite topic from Green Teacher. We invite you to contact us if you can assist us in this way, and to share this invitation with others who might be interested.

Please note that all volunteer translators will have as much time as they need to complete the translation. The work of all volunteers will be credited in the body of the articles that they have worked on.

Nous avons besoin de traducteurs

On nous demande souvent  à Green Teacher, si nous éditons des revues en français ou en espagnol. Malheureusement, il n’existe aucun magazine ressemblant à Green Teacher publié dans ces deux langues. De plus, nous ne sommes pas en mesure d’en publier nous-mêmes. Par la présence de milliers d’écoles de langue française au Canada et parce qu’il y a un accroissement important de l’effectif scolaire hispanophone aux États-Unis, il existe un besoin réel de matériel scolaire pour cette clientèle.

Avec l’aide de nos lecteurs multilingues et de plusieurs bénévoles du monde entier, nous souhaitons améliorer cette situation. Au début de l`année 2006, nous avons ajouté deux nouvelles sections à notre site Internet: Green Teacher en français et Green Teacher en espagnol. Les visiteurs du site Internet pourront télécharger gratuitement une sélection d’articles et d’activités d’apprentissage de Green Teacher qui auront été traduites en espagnol et en français.  Ce service est gratuit. Nous espérons qu’avec le temps, cette collection d’articles croîtra au point de devenir une ressource utile et largement utilisée, non seulement pour les enseignants et enseignantes de l’Amérique du Nord, mais pour tous les enseignants et enseignantes de pays de langue française ou espagnole partout dans le monde.

Nous sommes continuellement à la recherche de traducteurs bénévoles pouvant écrire aisément en français ou en espagnol et qui aimeraient traduire un article de Green Teacher qui leur aurait plu. Nous vous invitons à nous contacter si vous pouvez nous aider dans ce domaine et n’hésitez pas à partager cette invitation avec d’autres personnes qui pourraient être intéressées.

Notez bien que tous les traducteurs bénévoles pourront compléter la traduction à leur gré. De plus, la contribution de chaque bénévole sera mentionnée dans l’article qu’il ou elle aura traduit.
